Fabroülette!

That's right! I've coined a new term! Fabroülette!!!

From this day forward, Fabroülette is in full effect. You never know when a fierce game of Fabroülette will strike. Be on guard, always.

What is Fabroülette, you ask? It is when I launch a link at you with no description. You have to decide if it will be fab or drab. Place your invisible bet, take a deep breath, then click. It might be lovely, but could be atrocious. One never knows. That's the gambler's way, dahling.

Ready to make your first bet? Here goes. Spin that wheel...

CLICK HERE!

How did you do? Big winner? Burned?

Until next time, high roller.

I Envy a Four-Month-Old Boy

Skyler Morrison Berman, you little darlingheart. If you weren't four months old, I'd slap your face for being so fabulous. Because I don't need child abuse charges, I opt to blog instead.

Here's a clip of Skyler's mom, stylist extraordinaire Rachel Zoe, giving us a tour of Skyler's colossal closet. Naturally, you can expect to hear the words Ralph Lauren, Missoni (which, alone, is slap-worthy) and Gucci. OK, the garment bag... Five stars.

Work it, Skyler!

Apology

I'd like to issue a sincere, heartfelt apology to my beau, DJB, for enduring months of me talking like that damn talking dog in that stupid Ultimate Dog Tease video I posted May 10.  [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGeKSiCQkPw]

"Yeah? Yeah?" I say, trying to contain my laughter. "What was in there? Covered it with what? The maple kind, yeah." I say whilst chortling in a very self-satisfied manner.

Jackass Jones over here. I have zero control. I hate quoters. I've become a total quoter. WTF!?

All the while, with every episode, DJB remains cordially stoic. He never criticizes my asinine quotes, nor does he encourage me to utter/chortle them. Good move, sir. I'm aware of my problem, but might need help conquering it. My recommendation: a new viral video to quote!

This one isn't new, but it sho' is new to me! Woooohoooo!

DJB: I apologize in advance. "I want my ma-ma" is the new maple bacon, darling.

Jerry Birthday

Happy 80th birthday to Jerry Van Dyke, who has a fabulous last name. Oh, and he's a fine actor.

Yes, this video isn't Jerry Van Dyke; it's Leroy "The Auctioneer" Van Dyke... and he's fabulous. It's just a Van Dyke kind of day, folks. Who doesn't love a Van Dyke day, really?

Credo

A young Palestinian man was found in Israel; he had a bomb strapped to him. When it detonated, it didn't detonate properly and he was wounded. He did not get the triumphant results that he was seeking; he did not blow himself up and the people that were around him. And so he was captured. When the newsman asked him, "Why did you do this?" He said, "They killed my friend and I wanted to die." In other words, it was that simple: "They killed my friend and I wanted to die."

We think that those pure and simple words speak to this (Middle East Crisis) more clearly than all other words that have been spoken. It is that feeling that you've done this to me, so I'll do this to you, then you'll do this to me, and then I'll do this to you. And what happens in that is: It just gets bigger and bigger, and bigger. And no one ever wins. There is no triumph that ever comes from any of that.

Sandy Birthday

Naturally, Jesse James chose today to announce that his engagement to Kat Von D is kaput. It's Sandra Bullock's 47th birthday, Jesse, you insensitive, disrespectful toad. Will you please give the woman a break? Sheesh. I AM SO OVER JESSE M.F. JAMES!!!!!!!

Whew! That felt good. I've been holding this Jesse James angst in for far too long. Release was needed. JESSE JAMES SUUUUCKS! There. Done.

Happy birthday, Sandra Bullock. Your composure is awe-inspiring. You are a true lady. Five stars to you.

Fab Alert!

Thanks to artist Louise van der Veld for creating the Chick-a-Dee smoke detector/alarm ($72 U.S. dollars).

It's primarily being marketed for use in baby nurseries, but I think this adorable and much-needed little gadget belongs in any room.

Buy it here

Weekend Wrap-Up

It was a lovely and wholesome weekend, dahling.  Happy fifth birthday to my pal, Addison. She's the boss with the hose. Get 'em, girl!

Addison's mom, event planner Sheli Armstrong, receives five stars for the fab cake.

Next, DJB and I took the dogs to the always-fantastic Mariposa Gallery in Nob Hill for their annual pet portrait fundraiser. For a mere $15 donation per pet, we received on-the-spot, one-of-a-kind portraits of Mr. Fynn and Miss Mary.

The final products are quite different. Fynn's is classic, while Mary's is straight-up cartoony.

I liken Mary's portrait to Wile E. Coyote in a sailor dress. She will blow up your world with dynamite and unceremoniously drop anvils on you, all whilst looking fabulous in festive, themed frocks.

Next, we strolled around Nob Hill Summerfest. Central was blocked off from Girard to Washington. Great music, street vendors, food, bevvies and most of the boutiques were having great sales. Check out this snazzy little number from Off Broadway. It's a funky, late 60s dress with abstract blue/green print, flared sleeves and tied belt.

I can almost guarantee this year's birthday dress will come from Off Broadway. It's a big birthday, my friend. It starts with a four and ends with an ohmygawwwd. Sigh. Fabulous. The dress MUST rule.

This little dancing diva wins Coolest Chick of the Day award. She was hoofing it like there was no tomorrow, totally solo. She was so composed and focused. I was crabby until I saw her. Then I felt lighter and happier. Thanks, girl.

How was YOUR weekend, leisure lovah?
