Best Funeral Ever!

Please tell me you've had the pleasure of experiencing TLC's Best Funeral Ever. Please.  Recently, Best Funeral Ever was followed by Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. I decided to watch that, too. Here's my synopsis: TLC is no longer the learning channel, it's a sadistic pusher of asinine, guilty-pleasure programming that does not, in fact, involve much learning at all... and I loooove it. I watched those shows with such delight that it's probably not OK. I'll watch them again, too. Help me.

Best Funeral Ever is totally my new favorite show.

Morning SmackDown: Good vs. Evil

I woke up pissy. Total crab mode. NOT pleased. EVIL.

Fortunately, my buffoon of a husband soon had me laughing. GOOD.

It's windy. Checked the weather.

Partly cloudy. Damaging winds. Isolated rain and snow showers in the evening...then isolated snow showers after midnight. Lows in the lower to mid 20s. East winds 40 to 50 mph with gusts to around 70 mph.

Seriously? Tonight is Nob Hill Shop & Stroll! EVIL.

I heart Shop & Stroll. So lame! SO LAME! Wonder if they'll cancel the event? I'll look into it and let you know.

Fortunately, there's a silver lining to all of this...

Tonight, at 8 p.m., we're attending the premiere of The Dolls' holiday play, All About Christmas Eve. Weather be damned, I'm having fun tonight! GOOD!

My iQ write-up of the show:

All About Christmas Eve

8p Fri.-Sat., 2p Sun.; Dec 1-4, 8-11, 15-18

Aux Dog Theatre

3011 Monte Vista NE, 505.254.7716

$15, Thursday tickets are $10

Nothing says “Merry Christmas” like drag queens and Norma Desmond; thus, get your padded keister to Aux Dog Theatre for the Dolls’ annual holiday play. This year, it’s All About Christmas Eve, an original play by Dolls co-founder Ken Ansloan.

God is a drag queen who sends his most trusted and fabulous angel, Norma Desmond (Sunset Boulevard), to Earth to help mousy misfit Eve by showing her a succession of Christmas Eves in her life, from sweet young thing to sordid stripper to horrid hag who will be murdered on Christmas Eve if she doesn't change her evil ways.

Will Eve ever learn the true reason for the season?  Will Norma ever get her wings and be ready for her close-up, Mr. DeMille? Will God ever find the right shade of nail polish to match his halo? Find out when you partake in this holiday tradition that is far more fabulous than fruitcake.

This torrid weather means only one thing: Cream of Wheat. So, soooo GOOD.

I'd like to thank the goods for outweighing the bads this morning.

Friendship Can Be a Drag

In my world, when friendship is a drag, that means it's fabulous

Fervent accolades to my dear friend, Bradd Howard (a.k.a. Chastity Belt-Off), for an outstanding performance as Ashley St. Ives in The Dolls‘ annual Halloween play, Satan’s School for Girls — The Reunion

The play runs at the Aux Dog Theatre through October 30th.

Beard Mania Continues!

Beard is the new black, dahling.

Click here to check out pics from IFC's new reality series about competitive facial hair growing, Whisker Wars, which airs August 5.

Here a beard; there a beard; everywhere a beard, beard. Do I need to grow a beard in order to remain relevant? Sheesh.
