Seven PsychoCATS!

OK, so you've heard about Seven Psychopaths, the supermovie debuting this month. If not, please review the clip below.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Jbq4nGObfqA

Stoked to see this. Give me anything Woody, Walken or Rockwell, and I'm there.

Anyway, here's Seven PsychoCATS. I think it needs no explanation.

As always, this post is dedicated to my loving sister, Kelly, who loves talking and/or singing animals.

Speaking of sisters, my sis Stacie is awesome. She is the new co-anchor on WDAZ News at 5 in Grand Forks, ND. She is not a fan of singing/talking animals, but she is a fan of clowns.

Rise, Apes! Kick Some Ass!

Horrible writer's block tonight, dahling. Evil! Thus, I took two hours off and caught a flick with good ol' Brian Banks.

We saw Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Since we saw the 2001 Planet of the Apes remake together in the theater, we figured we'd keep the fire burning and catch this new Apes flick tandem, as well.

This time, I nearly walked out of the theater because it was too tough to watch. The protagonist ape, Caesar, gets totally f**ked over repeatedly until it's nearly unbearable to witness. However, as the title connotes, things turn around... and, boy, do those apes rise. They bring the wrath like nobody's business, honey!

Rise, apes! Teach those humans the right way of doing things! Riiiiiise!!!

I heart Caesar.

New Fashion Doc!

There's a new fashion documentary out. Cheers of joy! You know how much I adore docs, dahling.  The Tents chronicles the evolution of New York Fashion Week from it's meager beginnings to the current extravaganza known as Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Feast on nterviews with designers like Donna Karan, Zac Posen, Betsey Johnson, Richie Rich and Carolina Herrera. We also hear from front row favorites such as Miss Guy, Nina Garcia, Robert Verdi and Carson Kressley, to name a few.

Super Ella Bros!

My nephew, Brennan Gilpatrick, has a penchant for filmmaking. Here's his latest: Super Ella Bros., featuring his sister/my niece, the fabulous Ella.

Here are some of my favorite works by Brennan. Both feature several members of my Indiana fam. Haaaay, Indy fam!

First, The Dinner Guest, a zombie-lover's delight! Fans of my awesome brother, Zach, will enjoy his cameo at the 09:05 mark.

This one is lovely: The Crescendo Kid, winner of the 2010 Indy Teen Film Festival. You might recognize the piano teacher; it's my high-collar-ruffle-stripe-blouse-loving sister, Kelly.

The family that acts together, stays together. Keep up the fabulousness, Brennan. Bright future!

New Beasties!

In the spirit of the Marwencol (2000 documentary about brain-damaged Mark Hogancamp's doll-filled town in his yard), the Beastie Boys have released their new Spike Jonez music video for Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win (feat. Santigold). Absolutely epic!

P.S. If you've not seen Marwencol, I highly recommend. Here's the trailer.

Gospel Alert!

American Idol's Fantasia Barrino has signed on for the lead role in a Mahalia Jackson biopic. The film, titled Mahalia, follow's the gospel legend's rise from poverty in New Orleans to one of the most incredible gospel singers of all time. Can't wait to see this film!

May the 4th be with you!

It's May 4, and geeks everywhere know what that means: Star Wars Day!

Please enjoy this extra-stupid Star Wars dance-off clip. Contestant #1, disco Chewbacca, kills it! How Leia and Luke won is beyond me. Lame.
