Elsa Ross and Chez D'or put on a great fashion show at Apothecary Lounge last night.
Autumn at Elsa Ross looks verrrry promising. I was particularly smitten with the jeans and dresses.
My camera was acting a fool, so, sadly, I don't have any usable show shots. The Elsa crew are sharing some show media with me soon. Something to look forward to, dahling.
Skyler Morrison Berman, you little darlingheart. If you weren't four months old, I'd slap your face for being so fabulous. Because I don't need child abuse charges, I opt to blog instead.
Here's a clip of Skyler's mom, stylist extraordinaire Rachel Zoe, giving us a tour of Skyler's colossal closet. Naturally, you can expect to hear the words Ralph Lauren, Missoni (which, alone, is slap-worthy) and Gucci. OK, the garment bag... Five stars.

It was a lovely and wholesome weekend, dahling. Happy fifth birthday to my pal, Addison. She's the boss with the hose. Get 'em, girl!
Addison's mom, event planner Sheli Armstrong, receives five stars for the fab cake.
Next, DJB and I took the dogs to the always-fantastic Mariposa Gallery in Nob Hill for their annual pet portrait fundraiser. For a mere $15 donation per pet, we received on-the-spot, one-of-a-kind portraits of Mr. Fynn and Miss Mary.
The final products are quite different. Fynn's is classic, while Mary's is straight-up cartoony.
I liken Mary's portrait to Wile E. Coyote in a sailor dress. She will blow up your world with dynamite and unceremoniously drop anvils on you, all whilst looking fabulous in festive, themed frocks.
Next, we strolled around Nob Hill Summerfest. Central was blocked off from Girard to Washington. Great music, street vendors, food, bevvies and most of the boutiques were having great sales. Check out this snazzy little number from Off Broadway. It's a funky, late 60s dress with abstract blue/green print, flared sleeves and tied belt.
I can almost guarantee this year's birthday dress will come from Off Broadway. It's a big birthday, my friend. It starts with a four and ends with an ohmygawwwd. Sigh. Fabulous. The dress MUST rule.
This little dancing diva wins Coolest Chick of the Day award. She was hoofing it like there was no tomorrow, totally solo. She was so composed and focused. I was crabby until I saw her. Then I felt lighter and happier. Thanks, girl.

New York City was in a fashion frenzy for last night's Council of Fashion Designers of America Fashion Awards. Anderson Cooper hosted the event at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall.
Womenswear Designer of the Year: Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler
Menswear Designer of the Year: Michael Bastian
Accessory Designer of the Year: Alexander Wang
The Swarovski Award for emerging talents went to Prabal Gurung for Womenswear, Robert Geller for Menswear and Eddie Borgo for Accessory Design.
Special honors included a Fashion Icon Award for Lady Gaga and a Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award for Marc Jacobs.
Gaga said she knew she'd truly arrived on the fashion scene when she received a text message from Anna Wintour that she would be honored by the CFDA.
Apparently, however, Gaga thought the text was from a friend named Anna, and she replied with "Yes, bitch, we did it!."
The Vogue editor's reply: "How lovely."

Just finished watching Valentino: The Last Emperor. Bravo! Five stars! This stellar documentary details the legendary designer's history and the fashion empire that he and partner, Giancarlo Giammetti, built over 50 years. Netflix it.

Fun fact: Actors Jeremy Renner and Scarlett Johansson were there at night's end, sipping cocktails. They're in town filming The Avengers.
Little Mary Poppins, Pomchi extraordinaire, went for her first rock-climbing excursion a few days ago. Girl is a pro! She scrambled up those rocks like nobody's business. Go, Mary!
She would have never rock-climbed if it wasn't for animal rescue.
Found running as an injured stray in a rural area, Mary's time was up at the pound. Nobody wanted to adopt her because of her injuries. It was euthanasia time for our little red pal. Fortunately, a rescue group, Quixote Humane, sprung her from the pound in the nick of time, got her the vet care she needed (resulting in a $1,000 bill, with discount!), nursed her back to health and eventually allowed me to adopt her. As I type these words, she is snoozing in my lap.
The über-caring, passionate volunteers who work so hard to save pets' lives deserve our sincere gratitude. They spend their days cleaning up the messes of irresponsible dog and cat owners, and trying to prevent new messes from happening. They make the world a better place for dogs and cats.

Bon Fete Fashion for Paws, a silent auction and fashion show benefiting Animal Humane Association of New Mexico, is the brainchild of makeup artist Ashlynne Padilla and boutique owner Monica Vigil. The night begins at 6 p.m. with a silent auction featuring art, pet products, styling services, makeovers, boutique gift certificates and more. Bliss! Next, at 7 p.m., it’s a Moni V’s fashion show (emcee: yours truly) with makeup by Padilla and hair by Inspire salon. Designers include Splendid, Cynthia Vincent and Halston.
