Rescue Rules!
Little Mary Poppins, Pomchi extraordinaire, went for her first rock-climbing excursion a few days ago. Girl is a pro! She scrambled up those rocks like nobody's business. Go, Mary!
She would have never rock-climbed if it wasn't for animal rescue.
Found running as an injured stray in a rural area, Mary's time was up at the pound. Nobody wanted to adopt her because of her injuries. It was euthanasia time for our little red pal. Fortunately, a rescue group, Quixote Humane, sprung her from the pound in the nick of time, got her the vet care she needed (resulting in a $1,000 bill, with discount!), nursed her back to health and eventually allowed me to adopt her. As I type these words, she is snoozing in my lap.
The über-caring, passionate volunteers who work so hard to save pets' lives deserve our sincere gratitude. They spend their days cleaning up the messes of irresponsible dog and cat owners, and trying to prevent new messes from happening. They make the world a better place for dogs and cats.
Please attend Bon Fete Fashion for Paws, a silent auction and fashion show benefiting Animal Humane Association of New Mexico.
It all happens TOMORROW evening: Thursday, May 26 at 6 p.m. at Hotel Parq Central.
Time is running out! Get your passes now!

Approximately 4 million pet dogs and cats are euthanized each year due to overpopulation. Adopt a dog or cat from a humane society, animal shelter or rescue group and save a life!

Still Standing
Here's Family Radio's Harold Camping, still standing (or sitting, rather) due to non-rapture. Yesterday, he opened his door to a reporter and said he was "flabbergasted" that the rapture didn't arrive as predicted. He added that it was "a really tough weekend."
Noble effort, Mr. Camping. We applaud your vigor. So long, rapture. Bon voyage.
And, ever since I drafted the title of this post, that damn Elton John song has been stuck in my head. I'd like it to infect yours now, thankyouverymuch. I so forgot how gayer-than-gay this video is. Loves it!

Rapture?!? Iceland Volcano Erupting!
Happy T-Day
Happy 59th birthday to Mr. T, a man who is so fabulous, it's foolish.
Please, please, pleeeease enjoy this 80s fashion show, hosted by T himself. Five stars, without hesitation.

That T is one smooth betch. I took some notes in case I clam up whilst emceeing the Bon Fete charity fashion show next week. Please attend, if able. Rescued dogs and cats need our help.
Heeere it Comes!
Just Another Friday Evening
Mi Vida Loca
Best. Party. Excuse. EVAH!
Four Words: Post-Rapture Looting Party. I think I can safely declare that now that I've heard those four words, I can die happy.
In anticipation of Saturday's rapture, fabulous jackasses around the country are hosting post-rapture looting parties. You might need to host one, too. I'm seriously contemplating.

Derby Notes
It ain't a feather fascinator, but it worked. I decided to get my hellbilly on for this year's derby. Different? Yes -- DEFINITELY. But since I attended with DJB, who is (a.) in western attire, and (b.) rounding out the last fiscal quarter of a one-year spiritual beard quest, I decided to deck out in complementary fashion... sans beard... would've been funny with beard, though... hmmm... note to self: purchase stunt beard for totally matchy-matchy times.
Thanks to divine guidance courtesy of Sabra the Horse-Picking Goddess, DJB placed his bet on Animal Kingdom.
My derby ensemble wouldn't have been nearly as fabulous without these grand items from Adorn.
Mother's Day Sugar Buzz!
This is my mama, Kathy Azar-Masica, RScP.
St. Clair Winery & Bistro hosted a lovely Mother's Day brunch. We made the dessert table our bitch! Here we are, about to dive into our platter crammed full o' delish sweeties, including bread pudding, carrot cake, cannoli, heavenly cream cheese angel pockets (I don't know what they're really called, but they were damn good), cookies, angel food cake and more.
Two hours later, and I'm still bouncing off the walls. Wheeee!
Happy Derby Day!
Beatrice Hat Bash Fever!
Everyone's in on the joke about Princess Beatrice's hat. Yay! Let the barbs fly, dahling! Here's a gem from TotallyLooksLike.com: "Princess Beatrice's Hat Totally Looks Like the Flying Spaghetti Monster".
Then there's this genius of a Tumblr site, People Wearing Beatrice's Hat.
And, naturally, the hat has its own damn Twitter account. Perfect tone: proper, well-mannered and snooty as hell! Recent posts include: "There they go - onto the balcony. Stealing my limelight," and, "Thank you darling. And I adore.. whatever that thing is you're wearing."
Personally, the hat reminds me of the female reproductive system. Sorry, Bea. Just sayin'.
Many thanks to Princess Beatrice and Philip Treacy. Laughter is, indeed, the best medicine.
The Met Gala is Tonight!
Once again, it's time for one fashion's biggest nights: the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala exhibit. This year's exhibit feature is "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty," a tribute to the late designer.
Gisele Bundchen just leaked a photo via Twitter of the McQueen gown she's wearing tonight. Fab!
Weekend Wrap-Up
AIDS Walk was great. Big thanks to Kevyn for getting everyone together. Viva Team Bossy!
Was so busy Saturday that I couldn't squeeze in time to deliver this special 78th birthday shout-out to the red-headed stranger. Better late than never. Happy belated, Willie.
Last, but not least, look who's in town from NYC for a wedding...
That's right, kids: It's hair guru, good pal and all-around cool guy, Ian.
It's AIDS Walk Morning!
I am preparing for AIDS Walk, childrens! Team Bossy is in full effect. Naturally, pics will be provided later.
Walk on, Team Bossy... walk on! Go!

Wish I could've posted Walk it Out Fosse, but apparently they're in copyright battles and it's off YouTube. SO lame.
