Although I love this fresh cupcake vending machine nearly as much as life itself, after my recent tryst with the Girl Scout cookies, I must say---for obvious reasons---that I'm quite relieved that this machine lives far away in Bev Hills.

Yes, I so totally did. With a pint of milk. Whole milk. Yes, I sure did. 

Um, I also ate three of these (cookies, not boxes)...

I totally ate a dozen Girl Scout cookies. No shame. None whatsoever. Eating for three, baby. Four cookies each. Respectable. Yeeeehaw!

Fab Layette Preview

The Brownies are beginning to accumulate some togs. So far, so very, very good. Some are gifts; some we've purchased. Lookin' good already, kids. 

Boy/girl? Boy/Boy? Girl/Girl? We'll know at month's end.

Regardless, we have no qualms about putting a girl in an AC/DC onesie, or a boy in a Blondie shirt. As long as it's fabulous, we'll wear it. 

I am quite eager to meet the rascals who will wear these fab ensembles.

According to an old Irish legend, St. Bridget struck a deal with St Patrick to allow women to propose to men every 4 years. 

In some places, Leap Day has been known as “Bachelors’ Day” for the same reason. A man was expected to pay a penalty, such as a gown or money, if he refused a marriage proposal from a woman on Leap Day. In many European countries, especially in the upper classes of society, tradition dictates that any man who refuses a woman's proposal on February 29 has to buy her 12 pairs of gloves. The intention is that the woman can wear the gloves to hide the embarrassment of not having an engagement ring.

"Research by China's National Population and Family Planning Commission, published in the People's Daily, concluded that a quarter of slogans posted in furtherance of its policies had been crude and harsh in the past. It described some as spine-chilling.

Among the examples it cited were, 'Kill all your family if you don't follow the rule' and, 'If you escape (sterilisation), we'll hunt you down; if you want to hang yourself, we'll give you the rope'.

State media blamed local officials for coming up with phrases such as, "If you don't get sterilised, your house will be demolished".
