Team Bossy needs you!

It’s Albuquerque AIDS Walk time! This year’s walk happens Saturday, April 30 at 11 a.m. at Highland High School, a.k.a. Beavis and Butthead's stomping grounds. Seriously, this school was the inspiration. B&B creator, Mike Judge, attended HHS. I digress...

My walk crew, Team Bossy, is exceptionally fabulous. Please sponsor us!

The Michael King Memorial AIDS Walk is a local, grass-roots effort to feed community members living with HIV/AIDS.

Every dollar raised will go to the Joe & Jean Travis HIV/AIDS Food Bank.

The HIV/AIDS epidemic hit home for Joe and Jean Travis in the 90’s when their son, Michael King, tested positive. After AIDS took Michael in 1995, Joe and Jean turned dedicated their lives to fighting AIDS, feeding HIV/AIDS positive people, taking them to medical appointments, providing financial assistance when possible, overseeing the NM AIDS Quilt, volunteering with The United Court of the Sandias and volunteering 15 years at New Mexico AIDS Services.

With your support, we know that we can make a difference in the lives of people living with AIDS/HIV. To help reach the walk’s goal of $30,000 to fund the Joe & Jean Travis HIV/AIDS Food Bank, please sponsor Team Bossy.

Pledges in any amount are greatly appreciated. Donations can be made in cash or check. All donations are tax deductible.

Please make checks out to: Joe & Jean Travis HIV/AIDS Food Bank. Contact me for the address.

Go, Team Bossy!!!!!!!!

More than 60 New York-based designers have come together– including Alexander Wang, Altuzzara, Derek Lam, Diane von Furstenberg, Doo Ri, Proenza Schouler, Thakoon, VPL, Zero Maria Cornejo and several accessories designers– and pledged to donate ‘one rolling rack’ of their clothing for this charity event. All items will be offered at 50% or more off the retail price.

Along with Kikka Hanazawa (President of VPL) and Tomoko Ogura (Fashion Director Women’s Co-op at Barneys New York), Fashion Girls for Japan was initially conceived by Kyoko Kageyama (3.1 Philip Lim), who was in Japan when the 8.9 magnitude earthquake and tsunami struck on March 11, 2011. With volunteers from Japanese-American fashion community, the generous donations of New York designers, and special support from fashion consultant Julie Gilhart, these members of the American fashion industry aim to aid and rebuild hope for their Japanese colleagues and customers through this special “60+ Designers/60+ Rolling Racks” event.
